Recently, anterolateral rotational instability of knee has been recognized widely as a significant-cause of disability in the knee, and many reports has described surgical procedure designed to correct it.
However, our experience with these surgical procedures was disappointing in Date. In 1981, Andews reported the new simple surgical procedure using iliotibial tract for antero lateral rotational instability of knee and the results were satisfactory in 90% in 54 cases. We have experienced 8 cases with Andrews procedure since 1983 and the results was superior than that of the other surgical procedure in spite of short follow up data.
